Help Guide - How to use PDF Utility Instructions for filling up the PDF Utility. 1. Download the appropriate PDF utility for the relevant Assessment year for which the return is to be filed. 2. The fields marked with "RED" color are mandatory fields and needs to be filled. 3. The dates are to be entered in "dd/mm/yyyy" format. The PDF utility does not accept any other format. 4. For "Tax deducted at source from salary", "Tax deducted at source other than salary" and "Advance and Self assessment tax" , click on the "+" sign to create multiple rows. 5. Click on the "X" button to delete any row. 6. Click on the "Import from XML" button to get the data from any other XML file. After successful transaction, the data will be populated in the PDF utility. 7. Click on the "Calculate Tax" button to generate the Tax payable and also to generate the Interest payable on the tax payable amount. 8. Do not delete blank rows as utility will automatically ensure they are not added to the XML generated. Steps for Generating the XML file: 1. Fill up all the relevant details. 2. Click on the "Check Form" button to validate the PDF form. 3. If the PDF form is OK, then Print, Generate Bar Code and Export to XML buton will get activated. 4. Then click on the "Generate Bar Code" button to generate the bar code. 5. Click on the "Print Button" to print the PDF form. 6. Click on the "Export to XML" button to generate the XML file. It will ask you to save it at any location. Select the location where you want the save to be saved and click Ok. 7. Upload the generated XML file on the e?filing website using yourlogin/password. 8. On Successful uploading of XML, message will be displayed on the screen.
